STUDIO
Studio IK is an architecture studio founded by Isil Karaoglu,
based in Rome.
It creates contemporary architectural spaces
inspired by the soul of places.
ISIL KARAOGLU
After an Erasmus period at ENSA Paris Malaquais, she acquired an Itinerant Master’s degree from Accademia Adrianea in Rome, which allowed her to participate in several conferences and workshops in Europe. At the end of this master, she won the first prize of Piranesi Prix de Rome XIII. Wishing to continue her studies, she obtained the second master’s degree in architecture at Politecnico di Milano with the mention: ‘one of the most talented students’ accompanied by a Merit Based Gold Scholarship. Her studies had also allowed her to take courses from several renowned architects such as Kazuyo Sejima-SANAA as well as an internship-workshop in collaboration with David Chipperfield Architects in Berlin and another internship for the restoration of the Alhambra Palace in Granada.
In the meantime, she worked for architecture studios focusing on local projects in Italy. One of them, in collaboration with Peter Eisenman Architects, concerned Pinerba housing complex in Milan.
After finishing her second master, she worked for Studio Fabio Novembre in Milan where, in a team, she followed numerous international projects from Miami, USA to Suwon, S.Korea. Subsequently, she started collaborating in Paris with Jean Nouvel Design on several prestigious projects. In parallel, she participated in other interior projects in Paris for some clients like Hermès.
